Severne C2 ::
German Surf, 09.05
|
The "C2" offers the earliest planning, combined with excellent control in strong wind and gives the proof,
that a big wind range needs not necessarily a -mostly heavier feeling- Freerace sail. The delivered mast,
a stiff 5,20m Gaastra mast ( Severne mast was not available at time of test ) gives a solid back to the sail
and is also responsible for the stiff and neutral balanced feeling. The boom from Gaastra is not recommended
in this size ( see test result Gaastra Swift ). The very straight mastpocket almost draws the mast while
rigging, the Cambers are mounted when you put the mast in the pocket which is simple.
Even with a deep profile, the cambers rotate while tacking or jibing very easy. The C2 is very easy to
handle in the whole windrange, has a nice twist and offers a very balanced impression which should earn a
" EASY SURFING TAG". It feels almost as light as the North and has almost the same windrange like the Neil
Pryde V8 from the next "upper" sail class of Freeracesails - a welldone compromise, a guarantor for planning
at the lowest windlimit.
Plus Feels tight, huge windrange, best planning
