SEVERNE NCX 8.0 ::

Windsport tested: Luff 496cm, boom 225 cm, six battens
Severne's freeriding NCX takes on a lighter, livelier sensation in its second production year. For a new sail, this is one that will catch
you by surprise.
Low forward draft makes the NCX one of the more manoeuvrable sails in this group. The 225 cm boom is the longest in the test but surprisingly
agile and smooth. The NCX gives power that won't yank your arms off, with more than enough punch to get you going considering the light,
manoeuvrable feel.
The centre of effort and reactive luff paneling offer nimble response to subtle wind changes, adding excitement to marginal days. A good wind
range with a combined stable and lively feeling throughout keeps you on the water. Ample tuning is available from downhaul and outhaul adjustments.
The overall construction has enough durability to survive the demands of most flatwater riders looking for fun. Severne has included smart lifespan
features, such as a molded mast pad with nicely finished construction. You get good bang for the buck.
While the NCX is happy to power the most modern freeride sails that smaller or lighter riders can pop on more traditional boards and get turbocharged results.
A great first step for a quiver upgrade.
